Aren’t the uplines supposed to be teaching what is currently working in business to help their downlines build a successful business?
After all, the MLM / network marketing model is designed in such a way that the uplines can only become successful when the downlines become successful, isn’t it?
If that’s the case, then why are so many people sitting at home freaking out over accosting total strangers and asking them crazy questions like “how would you like to develop a stream of income working only part-time from the comfort of the own home along side what you are currently doing?”
These folks usually fail time and time again doing things this way because they are not going about the issue the correct way!
The reality is that there prospecting is an art and science, and just because a “line” or a “script” your upline or mentor gives you is supposed to work, the timing in which that “line” or “script” is use makes all the difference.
You know, like when people propose and ask the “will you marry me” question… Timing matters!
And quite frequently, when you use the right strategies, you don’t have to use these “lines” or “scripts” at all.
I’ve used many different approaches which all led to me asking the prospects the exact same questions with drasticaly different results! And that comes with experience… but let’s dig deeper first.

You may or may not have heard of this term before, and in a nutshell, “Attraction Marketing” is simply a way to collect the contact info of people who are searching for more information about starting a business, specific benefits or certain products/services or both. This approach make it considerably less complicated for you personally to find people who are much more likely to be ready to join your team or buy your products.

1. Now you might have a hot prospect on the line, and the worst thing you can possibly do is connect with them and immediately launch into a canned presentation yourself. The better approach will be to guide your prospect through the company presentation with a tool or resource such as an online video, a DVD, a recorded conference call or something to that effect. The purpose is simple but critical: you need your prospect to be able to see for themselves that building this business is simple because there are tools to help them get the job done. They do NOT have to be a professional presenter, and that though alone will very well scare them off.
2. Another reason that you may not want to launch into a canned sales pitch is that you are likely to end up covering a wide range of factors and rewards associated with owning a business, which may be crucial to you, but not for your prospects.
A far better approach is to ask your prospect why starting a business is essential to them. Ask them what has changed in their life that makes owning a home business and creating additional income attractive to them, and have them expand on their answer.
Ask how much money they are looking to make and how creating that income will affect their lives.
The key is ask questions about THEM, and make them feel important… that you’re there to help THEM find the solution.
People acquire products, services and get into business opportunities for emotional reasons and then justify their decision logically. Asking questions creates in your prospect the emotional responses which literally cause them to talk themselves into joining. Later they will lock in their decision logically.
3. Use proven “lines” or “scripts” and practice them.
